Start today by walking at least 30 minutes a day or 45 minutes every other day. Something is better than nothing at all. In as little as a week you will notice your muscles getting stronger. After a few weeks you will start to see an increase in your strength and stamina. All ways keeping in mind active and strong muscles will burn more fat than muscles that are not used often.
